Sydney supports CommonHealth ACTION’s client programs with a little bit of everything, from analyzing assessment data, to creating social media graphics, to providing tech support for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion trainings.
I take action for equity because I want to help transform the U.S. into a country that is truly the land of freedom and justice for all.
Sydney has a passion for creating transparency and accountability in public health, and improving maternal and child health in particular. She began her career as an intern for CommonHealth ACTION, where she researched the effects of COVID-19 on social determinants of health in communities of color, the history of racism in birth work, and the science and implications of unconscious bias and systemic privilege.
Sydney earned a BS in Health Promotion with an emphasis in health services from the University of Georgia. After conducting extensive research in Black mother mortality and sudden infant death syndrome, for her senior project Sydney created a program plan to reduce SIDS incidence among Black infants.
This course provides learners with a self-paced, flexible format to complete the coursework over a period of two months.** **A $50 charge will be assessed for each additional month requested to complete the course over the two-month period allotted.

In these workshops, learners will have access to the online course and participate in two (2) three-hour facilitated virtual sessions to help them dive deeper into the online content.
