Shanece L. Veal

Program Associate

Shanece supports assessment and evaluation design for CommonHealth ACTION’S programs, as well as client communications and board development. Driven to support innovation and open-minded collaboration, Shanece brings a wealth of research, evaluation and design skills to her work at CHA.

I take action for equity because we live in a society where our leaders in our neighborhoods and communities are unaware of how their actions and behaviors affect other people’s lives. We have to learn to be accountable and acknowledge our unconsciousness while showing empathy and gratitude.

Shanece’s professional background includes nonprofit management, social services and administration. Prior to CommonHealth ACTION, she worked as a patient advocate at a nonprofit hospital, ensuring that patients received necessary resources to meet their health conditions. While coaching patients struggling with substance abuse, she conducted research on the opioid epidemic and used these learnings to develop effective rehabilitation plans.

Shanece is from the small town of Irwinton, Ga. She earned a MPH from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Health Science from Armstrong State University (Georgia Southern).
