Carmelita (Carmen) is an expert problem-solver who oversees the daily business activities of  CommonHealth ACTION, including HR functions, marketing and communications, board support and development, and IT operations. 

I take action for equity because everyone deserves to be treated fairly and given access to programs, resources and opportunities that will benefit their situation. When a society is equitable and diverse, everyone benefits.

Driven to foster learning, balance and teamwork, Carmen is constantly finding ways to improve CHA’s systems, processes and communications channels.

Carmen is a reliable and creative project manager who began working with CommonHealth ACTION as an IT consultant, providing guidance on IT infrastructure and resolving issues with staff equipment. In her 17 years as an IT Specialist at Carr Properties and Bright Beginnings Inc., she configured machines and equipment, trained staff and executives, and wrote policies, documentation and instruction manuals. She has always valued delivering excellent customer service to colleagues and vendors.

Carmen is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with a BA in Speech Communications.
