David Harrington

David Harrington recently has completed a fifteen year history in public service commencing as Mayor of Bladensburg, then serving on the Prince George's County Council and concluding as Maryland State Senate, During this time, David also was President of the Maryland Municipal League, served as National Chair of Economic Development with the National Association of Counties and Chaired the Maryland Senate Task Force on Physical Education. A longtime advocate for health communities, the environment and non-profits David has been awarded Legislator of the Year from Maryland League of Conservation Voters and was twice awarded by the Center for Non-Profit Advancement as their Public Official of the Year. He was also instrumental in introducing the Wellness Opportunity Zone in Prince George's County.

David is a graduate from Howard University and completed his graduate work at Miami University of Ohio, He has also served as faculty at Harvard University's Summer Institute on Reading, Writing and Civic Education and was Associate Director and Faculty at the University of Maryland James MacGregor Burns Academy of Leadership. David's leadership has been recognized by the Gallup Leadership Institute and the Rawlings Leadership Institute at the University of Maryland.
