• Janelle Suggs

    Assistant Program Manager

As an Assistant Program Manager of Training, Wellness and Operations, Janelle Suggs provides support to executive staff for effective management and handles special projects for CHA.  Prior to working at CHA, Mrs. Suggs served as the Financial Administrative Coordinator for the Office of the Senior Vice President of Health Sciences and the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Senior Vice President of Health Sciences at Howard University. During her time at Howard, she was involved in a variety of projects related to finance, quality control, and women's health. She worked with the CEO of the Health Sciences department to introduce new financial practices to the faculty and staff. Mrs. Suggs also served on the C.A.R.E.S committee (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, Service), which aims to inspire a culture of engagement within Health Sciences that supports an extraordinary experience for both internal and external customers.
One of Mrs. Suggs most rewarding projects involved assisting Dr. Maxwell, the Director of the Women’s Health Institute, in co-hosting a two-day interactive, interdisciplinary conference with The American Psychological Association, called “Inequity to Equity: Promoting Health and Wellness of Women with Disabilities” in Washington, DC. By promoting the exchange of knowledge and information among psychologists, other health care providers, researchers, educators, policymakers, women with disabilities, and advocates, the conference fostered an integrated health care agenda that aims to improve health outcomes for women with disabilities.

Outside of work, Mrs. Suggs sits on the board of the Kemp-Parker Charitable Foundation, a family foundation that gives college scholarships to high school students with outstanding grades and achievements, from underserved communities. She also volunteers with the Washington Area Women’s Foundation, whose mission is to mobilize our community to ensure that economically vulnerable women and girls in the Washington Metropolitan region have the resources they need to thrive. Mrs. Suggs received a B.S in Finance from Morgan State University and an M.B.A from the University of Baltimore.
